With multitenant architecture the Oracle databases (v. ≥ 12c) function as multitenant container databases (CDBs) which include zero, one or more customer-created pluggable databases (PDBs). The PDB is a portable collection of schemas, schema objects, and non-schema objects that appears to an Oracle Net client as a traditional Oracle database (non-CDB).
