1. On a system where the GUI is installed.

Go to Program Files\SEPsesam\var\ini and open the file sm.ini with an editor.

write the hostname of SEPsesam server,

please check DNS name resolution (SEP hostname to IP<->IP SEP hostname) and (GUI client name to IP<->IP to GUI client name). Repeat this procedure on the GUI client.

Open the desktop shortcut of SEP sesam with a right click and choose properties. There you can see the parameter –sbuildfix (name of my server is buildfix) please insert the hostname of the SEP sesam server after -s without space.

On the SEP sesam server go to <SESAM_ROOT>/var/ini and type the following command

source sesam2000.profile

then sm_setup allow_gui -u '*' -c '*' -m admin please don’t forget the ' for masking the asterisks.

The GUI should work now. When the GUI still doesn't work check if your windows firewall is activated.
