Overview

Web UI offers an array of reports designed to identify issues in your backup environment, ensuring proactive measures to prevent potential data loss or disruptions to business operations. These reports cover diverse aspects of your backup environment, including the status of the last backup, unconfigured clients, and data storage usage. With SEP sesam reports, you can check the details of all events, gain insights into active jobs, upcoming events, and various states, including data store status, backups, migrations, and more.

In addition to reports, SEP sesam logs can provide valuable insights for troubleshooting and reviewing recorded events. The reports and log files can be downloaded or sent as email notifications.

Key features

The reporting functionality provides the following features:

  • A range of reports is available to help tracking and monitoring metrics for key points of interest, as well as analyzing environment and performance statistics.
  • Reports can be exported or downloaded, or sent as email notifications.

Available reports

In Web UI, you can access the reports by clicking on Reports in the navigation menu. Reports can be selected in the drop-down menu in the content pane.

You can fine-tune the report results using available filters such as date range pickers, selectors, clients, or locations, depending on the selected report. Reports can be opened in new tabs, downloaded as HTML, and exported as PDF. Language preference for reports can be set to English or German.

The following reports are available:

Jobs Overview
The default view displaying the status of your jobs, including backup tasks, task groups, migrations, and replications.
Failed Jobs
Two separate reports offer an overview of failed jobs (backups, migrations, etc.) and failed jobs categorized by media pools. Clicking on a task or task group opens a new window with job details.
Backup Storage Overview
Detailed information about your backup storage, covering backup tasks, status, saveset, pools, and more.
Client Backup Summary
Details of client backup tasks, media pools, and data size. Filters are available for clients or locations.
Tape media-related reports
Separate reports on available media, used media, and media readability check, providing information about media pool, media label, status, barcode, library ID, and more.
License Report (MSP Unit)
Shows the number of clients within the location with individual MSP Unit Licenses (Standard, Enterprise, and Enterprise Plus). License reports can be filtered by locations or clients.
Generic Report
Provides insights into the latest run of backup tasks in a specified time period. To refine the displayed tasks, filters for locations, clients, and tasks can be applied sequentially. Backup tasks are categorized into groups based on task type. Additionally, associated restore tasks and copy tasks are grouped in sections according to their type.
You can create reports customized to your specific requirements and save the URL for easy access and sharing.
