5 2 0:HPE StoreOnce Restore

From SEPsesam

Welcome to the latest SEP sesam documentation version 5.2.0 Artemis. For previous documentation version(s), check documentation archive.

Overview

You can use HPE StoreOnce Catalyst stores as backup storage to safely store and retrieve your business data. Restoring from HPE StoreOnce Catalyst store is the same as a regular file system restore.

SEP sesam does not differentiate between Si3 and HPE StoreOnce stores and treats backup data on backup repositories based on HPE StoreOnce Catalyst stores the same as backup repositories based on other types of storage, such as local disks.
HPE StoreOnce Catalyst store backups and replications can be used for various restores, depending on the options provided by SEP sesam: restoring entire VM, virtual disks, single file restore (SFR), etc. Note, however, that HPE StoreOnce limits the number of concurrently open files. Due to this limitation, single file restore by using mount may be limited. Refer to the HPE StoreOnce documentation for the values that apply to the specific model.

To perform restore in SEP sesam, you can use the web-based Restore Assistant. From v. ≥ 5.2.0 Artemis the restore procedure in the GUI is no longer available and Restore Assistant is the only method for restoring your data.

For more information on how to access the Restore Assistant and the general description of the restore procedure and available options, see Standard Restore Procedure.

A restore task can be scheduled like any other task. If you want to add a restore task to the schedule, see Creating a Restore Event.

Monitoring restore

You can monitor the restore progress using the Web UI (Monitoring -> Restores) or view the status in the GUI (Main Selection -> Job State -> Restores). The restore overview provides detailed information on the last run of restore jobs, including task name, status (successful, error, in queue...), start and stop time of the last backup, data size, throughput, etc. For details, see SEP sesam Web UI.
