1. On a system where the GUI is installed.
Go to Program Files\SEPsesam\var\ini and open the file sm.ini with an editor.
In line
gv_server=
write the hostname of SEPsesam server,
please check DNS name resolution (SEP hostname to IP<->IP SEP hostname) and (GUI client name to IP<->IP to GUI client name). Repeat this procedure on the GUI client.
Open the desktop shortcut of SEP sesam with a right click and choose properties. There you can see the parameter –sbuildfix (name of my server is buildfix) please insert the hostname of the SEP sesam server after -s without space.
On the SEP sesam server go to <SESAM_ROOT>/var/ini and type the following command
source sesam2000.profile
then sm_setup allow_gui -u '*' -c '*' -m admin please don’t forget the ' for masking the asterisks.
The GUI should work now. When the GUI still doesn't work check if your windows firewall is activated.
