Datacenter Installation Requirements

  • Backup Server
  • Linux/Solaris
  • Licensed version of SEP Sesam - Server 4.0.3-30 or later
  • Installed ssh client (openssh)
  • 1 (public) Static IP Address

EC2 Management Console Setup

  • Sign in to the AWS Management Console
  • Select EC2

  • Create an Instance

  • Select SLES 11 64 bit

  • Download Keypair

  • Launch the instance you created

  • Select or create a Security Group

  • Select inbound

  • Create a new rule for SSH connections from the backup server
  • TCP Port 22 (SSH) SESAM_SERVER/32
  • Create a new rule for connections from the network
  • TCP Ports 1025 - 65535 (SESAM) DATACENTER_NETWORK/CIDR
  • Apply Changes

  • Connect to the instance via ssh from the sesam server

Cloud Instance Installation Requirements

  • Install SEP Sesam - Cloud Device Server
  • ssh server (included by default on most images)

- Static/Elastic IP Address recommended
